Holter monitor is a portable electrocardiography (ECG) device for continuous monitoring cordial electrical activity of the for at least 24 to 48 hours. It allows assessing the blood supply to the cordial muscle, heart beat rate and heart rhythm over time. Such monitoring allows identifying, and in many cases preventing, the development of cardiovascular diseases, such as arrythmia (heart rhythm disturbance).
Holter monitoring is indispensable in cases when heart rhythm disturbances occur episodically and may not be detected with standard ECG.
Poly-Spectrum-CM-V Veterinary Digital Holter Monitor System is a portable instrument ideal for the veterinary clinic, clinical networks, and experimental research in small animals.
Poly-Spectrum-CM-V key features:
· Two or three recording channels.
· Continuous recording over 24-72 hours.
· Skin-safe electrodes.
· Clear artefact-free recording and processing.
· Intelligent software with veterinary-specific algorithm, numeric ECG data
· Intra-operative ECG monitoring during surgery and recovery, and experimental research.
· Extensive database, HL7 compatibility.
· Data export to Excel and statistical software for further analysis.
ECG recording in 2 or 3 channels
Depending on lead cable, Poly-Spectrum-CM-V can record ECG in two or three channels – continuously over 24-72 hours.
Complete information on heart rhythm
Poly-Spectrum-CM-V allows identifying arrythmia, especially in cases when heart rhythm disturbances occur episodically and may not be detected with standard ECG.
Skin-safe electrodes
Unlike the most common needle electrodes, Poly-Spectrum-CM-V Alligator Clip Electrodes are skin-safe, thereby preventing animal skin injury and the risk of infection. At the same time, the electrodes enable better skin contact, lower impedance, and high-quality ECG recording.
Easy programming of recording parameters
All recording parameters can be programmed, including ECG signal sampling rate: 250, 500, or 1000 Hz.
Along with ECG, other functions can be recorded – such as breathing, motion activity, body position, pacemaker impulses, — which substantially broadens functional capabilities of the System and allows obtaining additional information on the animal.
Exceptionally high-quality low-noise physiological preamplifiers, combined with high-efficiency digital filters and signal-processing algorithms, were specifically designed for Poly-Spectrum-CM-V based on extensive research and development. They ensure excellent noise suppression, clear ECG recording, and reliable, reproducible calculation of ECG parameters.
LED indicators on front panel
Holter monitor status is visually communicated to the user by three LED-indicators:
· Operation – the instrument is ON and works normally.
· Disconnection – disconnection of one or several leads.
· Battery – battery is low and needs replacement.
Built-in Bluetooth communication
Built-un wireless Bluetooth module transmits ECG data to a computer at a distance of up to 7–10 meters (23-33 ft). It allows the doctor or researcher viewing ECG on the computer screen in real time.
Intraoperative and post-operative cardiac monitoring
Bluetooth communication allows using Poly-Spectrum-СМ-V for cardiac function monitoring during pre-operative preparation, surgery, and post-operative recovery.
Database and data export
ECG measurement data and interpretation, as well as exam reports, are saved in a well-organized software database. The data and reports can be printed out either at the time of the assessment, or at a later time, and shared with a referring doctor or researcher.
ECG parameters can be exported to Excel spreadsheets and other statistical software for further data analysis making it an ideal tool for research projects.
Portability
The device is pocket-sized, battery-operated or powered from a PC through USB, and can be placed in a Carrying Case – along with a notebook computer. Hence, it can be used both in the clinic and on an outpatient visit.
This means that long-term ECG monitoring system is always at hand no matter where you go: at the clinic, research lab, or at a patient’s location.
Software compatibility
Neurosoft Software enables highly efficient operation – saving both capital and operating costs – through a number of compatibility features:
Multiple Neurosoft Software: Neurosoft Software for various Neurosoft instruments can be installed on the same computer – with no conflict between them. Moreover, all software can share a single database – for greater convenience and work-flow efficiency.
Multiple computers: Although only one computer can be used for diagnostic test data recording, each Neurosoft Software License allows using software on an unlimited number of computers. Thus, the data can be recorded on one computer, and then, the data can be shared, analyzed, reviewed on other computers – with no additional Software Licenses.
Other applications: Neurosoft Software can operate on a computer with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Project, as well as Adobe and accounting software. This is particularly efficient in smaller clinics.
Internet: Computers with Neurosoft Software installed can be connected to the Internet. In an unlikely and rare event that a Microsoft Operating System update affects a Neurosoft software component, it can be restored by Neurosoft software re-installation, with no loss of data.
Information system integration
Most clinics, networks and research institutions are equipped with information systems to store and process their data. HL7 (Health Level 7) is the most commonly used interface engine for exchange, integration, sharing and retrieval of electronic data.
HL7-compatibility allows integrating Poly-Spectrum-CM-V into the information system of a veterinary clinic, clinical network, or research institution.
Disinfection
Electronic Unit – soft cloth gently wrung in phenols (Bacillotex® etc.), or 70% alcohol, or 0.5% chlorohexidine.
If dangerous virus contamination is suspected – aldehydes (Cidex® etc.), or chlorinates (Diversol BX® etc.).
Interface cables and power cords – soft cloth moistened with disinfectant, for example, 1% chloramine solution or 3% hydrogen peroxide solution.
